The reason is that the passwords are encrypted.

Repeated attempts will disable the user account and a Super User will need to reactivate it. If you do not know your password or never had one because you are a new user, please use the “forgotten password” link to get a new one emailed to you.

Please do not ask AXLR8 to help staff or ask staff to contact AXLR8 for their log in credentials. We have no way to authenticate them and will point them to the above link. Please have an internal procedure for informing staff how they can far more quickly reset a new password for themselves.
