From Tuesday 1 April 2025, door supervisors and security guards must undertake refresher training to renew their licence. This is over and above the top up training from October 2021.

The new training will be available from October 2024 – a great opportunity to get your professionals ahead of the game bykeeping them informed and loading links and training materials on to your AXLR8 e-learning modules and creating pre-tests and practice quizzes.

Security staff training companies will be planning new courseware and adding that and practice exams into their AXLR8 e-learning platform.

What exactly will the SIA require?

What is required for security guards and door supervisors to maintain their licence?

Individuals holding a door supervisor licence can choose one of the following options:

Recommendations

  1. Check your AXLR8 staff bank to see who is most immediately affected – especially renewals in April May and June 2025. Check both the applicants you are progressing through the AXLR8 ATS and AXLR8 Vetting and also the Staff bank.
  2. In your AXLR8 e-Learning system, load up some preliminary training links and practice tests and quizzes to help staff check where they are plenty of time before the deadline.
  3. Perhaps send out a newsletter to staff reminding them and outlining how your company will be ahead of the game and help them meet the challenge.
